My Life in Ceduna

Abstract
One woman's journey to Multicultural Australia from the Philippines in 1983.
First, frustration - needing to update her qualifications with another diploma, after 20 years teaching experience, three degrees, plus an Outstanding Master Teacher Award, already to her credit.


Relief Teaching at the Local Area Schools, preceded a contract with the University of South Australia tutoring adult Aboriginal students enrolled externally in the Bachelor of Teaching and encouraging many others to attempt tertiary studies.


Awarded Ceduna,s Senior Australian Citizen of the Year in 1996, she has also recently been appointed as a Justice of the Peace for South Australia and Ombudsman,s Referral Justice for Ceduna.


Her four children are all successful in their own fields - Rosel an Undergraduate University student; Roman - Ceduna,s Youth Citizen of the Year (1986); Valerie a successful stage actress; and Paschal who represented Australia in the "Young Playwright's Workshop in London July 2000.
