Professor Tony Blake - UTS Vice-Chancellor since 1996 - has
been reappointed to the position for another five year term.
Announcing the decision, the Chancellor Sir Gerard Brennan
said Professor Blake had provided leadership, direction and stability
to the University during a particularly challenging and difficult
time, and he was now set to continue that role into the 21st
Century.
"Professor Blake's present term does not expire until
March 2001 but the University was anxious to secure his valued
service for the long term. As a result the University's governing
body agreed unanimously to renew his appointment until 2006,"
Sir Gerard said.
