Paula Abood
Community Cultural Development Worker, Sydney

Paula Abood is a community cultural development worker
and has worked with refugee and immigrant women for 13 years
in advocacy, policy, case and developmental work. She is also
a writer/editor, director and film maker, most recently having
made a short film called of middle eastern appearance that explores
the politics of racial profiling. She is active on a recently
formed coalition of activists, academics and community workers,
We Who Believe in Freedom - End Racialised Punishment, a campaign
that focuses on mandatory sentencing, imprisonment of refugees
and the overpolicing and targeting of particular communities
in Australia.
